I agree with Eileen a thread chart would be great since the fabric and thread is a kit. Maybe you could sell the thread chart as a download so that we can be guaranteed the same great result. I would pay a few extra bucks to take the brain work out of the thread color decision especially when spending close to $200 on the fabric and thread kit. Your color combinations are one of your best features that attracts me to your designs. Also, anyway to digitize the big hearts so that they can be done on the 730 in multiple hoopings?
Thanks,
Susan

Hi Eileen!
The colors in the designs as they are digitized won't look too nice!!! I did all the Silk Hearts using the 12 colors from the AURIfil kit - this is where you get to personalize th quilt. Just use the colors as you feel inspired :-) The purple is best left on the dark colored silks. The vari pink shows quite a bit of white - it's great for candlewicking. The lime green and turquoise will "pop" any of the yellow, orange, reds, pinks silk. The red, magenta and fuchsia all look great together - especially where there are two fills overlapped, or alternating candlewicking.
Hope this helps!

Thank you, Sarah.

Any tips on using the Aurifil thread kit instead of RA thread, which is how the designs come up. I can convert to Aurifil, thanks to your Aurifil thread chart, but wondered if I need more Aurifil colors. VBG!

Hi Susan,
It's really easy to bring them into your machine to stitch out in the mega hoop. That way you can put which ever 3 hearts you want in there. There are dozens of different combinations. The instructions show how to mark the fabric. I am happy to show you how to load multiple designs into your machine.

Hey Sarah,
are u going to digitize the 3 small hearts that are in 2 of the blocks side by side so they can be stitched out on the mega hoop?

OK...I have my silk kit, my Mako cotton threads and my designs...and stabilizeer. I bought the fabric and deisgns separately from the thread.)

I have the cutting instructions you shared so generously. Do you have the breakdown for getting the color layout on the quilt above from my silk kit?

Thank you, Sarah. I am excited to start!

Hi Susie,
I recommend getting a 34D and 57D. Both of these feet work with the 830 dual feed system - hence the D on the end. The 34D is the clear foot. I use this for all sorts of things! It's geat for machine applique - there is a red line in the center of the foot that allows you to follow a line very easily. I also use this foot to finish a piped binding, also because of the red line. Sometimes I use this foot for piecing - moving the needle to give me a perfect 1/4". The 57D is the 1/4" foot with an edge guide. If you do a lot of piecing, this is probably a really good addition.
Hope that helps!

Sarah.
My 830 will be arriving this Thursday with a first lesson at the Quilting Delights in Clackamas, Oregon.
I am interested in knowing what feet I will want to consider that do not come with the machine.
Thanks for the post.
