Dee - way too much work! Try this instead:

- prepare the applique fabric with fusible webbing on the back. Keep the backing paper on.
- when you stitch the placement line for the heart onto the background fabric in the hoop, unthread the machine (and you may need to turn the thread sensors off too), and lay the heart applique fabric on top of the background fabric in the hoop.
- stitch the placement line. It will perforate the backing paper on the fusible webbing, giving you an exact fit when cut out with a pair of scissors. You should also be able to see the placement lines too - but if you can't restitch with thread in the machine.
- fuse the heart in place and continue as normal.

I am considering using my cutwork software to cut out all the applique hearts. Do you have any suggestions for that?

OK...I have my silk kit, my Mako cotton threads and my designs...and stabilizeer. I bought the fabric and deisgns separately from the thread.)

I have the cutting instructions you shared so generously. Do you have the breakdown for getting the color layout on the quilt above from my silk kit?

Thank you, Sarah. I am excited to start!
